GOOD BYE TO JOSINA

by Inge-Harding Barlow

On February 16, 1996, Barron Park lost one of our greatest benefactors and long-time neighbor, Mrs. Josina Bol. Cornelis Bol Park was named for her husband, who died in 1965 and, of course, Josina Avenue was named for her. This lovely lady dearly loved plants, flowers, animals and, above all, her family. The tributes by, particularly, her grandchildren at her memorial service were most heart-felt and moving. Dear Mrs. Bol, we will remember you when we walk and play in the expanded Bol Park, when we see the wild flowers, when we hear the babbling of the creek and when we stroke your donkey, Mickey, who has become the mascot of Barron Park.
