Barron Avenue residents Gary Cole and Stan Baldwin decided 'enough was enough' this year. They spent a few weekends trimming bushes and hauling away about 40 garbage bags of clippings and trash scattered between the bus stops on El Camino between Barron and Curtner Avenues.
Craig Kolsrud, at All American Market, bought Gary and Stan a 12-pack of Henry Weinhard beer to show his appreciation of their efforts. Craig walks that route almost daily and thought they did a great job!
"We decided it looked bad," said Cole. "And who's going to do it if not us?" He said he didn't know who was responsible for clean-up of those areas, but "seems like everyone thinks it's someone else's job. We may expand our efforts to other parts of the neighborhood and El Camino, but it takes time. This is our neighborhood and we need to take care of it."
